Privacy Policy

TASC — The Apostolic Study Companion ("TASC," "we," "us") is a Bible study and spiritual growth platform. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

To create and run your account, we store:

• Your email address — used as your login identifier.
• The display name you choose (optional) — used to greet you in the app.
• Your subscription status, managed securely through Stripe.

To make the app useful, you may create content that is stored so you can access it later:

• Notes, notebooks, highlights, bookmarks, and memory verses.
• Personal prayer requests you choose to save.
• Reading plan progress and devotional completion.
• Account preferences such as text size, Strong's toggle, and notification settings.

Some features are kept entirely on your own device. Your scripture search history and recent reading history are stored in your browser's local storage — they never leave your device and are not sent to our servers.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or your content to anyone. Ever. Your data is not used for advertising and is not shared with data brokers.

Your personal notes, prayers, highlights, and study activity are yours. We do not routinely read, review, or monitor your private content. Access to individual records is limited to what is strictly necessary to operate the service, respond to your support requests, or comply with legal obligations.

Prayer requests you choose to share on the public prayer board are visible to other TASC members. You can delete a public prayer request at any time. Please do not share personal contact details or sensitive health information you would not want others to see.

TASC offers optional AI study tools. When you use them, your prompt and relevant context are sent to our AI provider to generate a response. These interactions are never used to train models for advertising and are not sold. Usage is counted so we can enforce fair-use limits tied to your subscription tier.

If you enable push notifications, we store an anonymous device token to deliver the reminders you requested (such as daily reading or prayer reminders). You can turn notifications off at any time in Settings. We may send service emails — like verification, password reset, or receipts — to the email on your account. We do not send marketing spam.

We rely on trusted providers for specific functions:

• Stripe — processes payments securely. We never see or store your full card number.
• Google — optional "Sign in with Google." We receive your email and basic profile only; we do not receive your password.
• Our AI provider — used only when you use an AI feature.

Each provider has its own privacy policy governing how they handle data. We share only the minimum needed to perform these services.

Your data is stored on secured infrastructure and transmitted over encrypted connections. We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time from the Account page or by contacting support.

TASC is intended for general use. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

• Access, edit, or delete your data from within the app's Account page.
• Close your account and request deletion of your stored content.
• Disable notifications and AI features at any time.
• Clear your on-device search and reading history directly in the app anytime.

We may update this policy as TASC evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
